Arranging an assessment
Appointments are made through the hospital's outpatient line or through the appointment service. If you are travelling from outside Chongqing, say so when you book, because the assessment and any pre-operative tests can sometimes be arranged across fewer visits. You can also use the contact page on this site to ask a question before booking.
What to bring
Bring any previous eyelid or facial surgery records, a list of your current medicines and allergies, and the names of any conditions you are being treated for. If you have had injectable treatments around the eye, note when and where, because the timing changes how the area is assessed. Old photographs of your face, if you have them, are more useful than you would expect.
What happens at the consultation
Expect an examination rather than a presentation. The surgeon will look at the lower lids at rest and in movement, in ordinary and overhead light, press gently to feel what lies under the skin, lift the brow and the cheek to see how much of the appearance is support, and ask about sleep, salt, allergy, thyroid and kidney history. You should leave knowing which of the three problems you have, whether it should be treated at all, and what the alternatives and their limits are.
Asking a question without booking
Questions about the content of this site — including any correction you believe should be made to it — are welcome through the hospital's administration line. Clinical questions about your own case are best answered in person, and we will say so rather than guess.
